Nuclear

The process of producing nuclear energy in principle is reasonably safe, however stringent precautions must be taken regarding operating procedures. Grave examples of nuclear accidents such as Three Mile Island, Chernobyl highlight the fact that accidents can occur. Recycling of nuclear waste is possible as the technology is available. Modular reactors such as the Pebble Bed Reactor (PBR) offer more rapid energy generators when compared to conventional new build facilities as PBR units can be operational within two-three years.
