The use of hydrogen (“Green”) is in its infancy as a contributor of energy and has both disadvantages and advantages, some of which are as follows:
- Hydrogen is abundant.
- Hydrogen is highly flammable.
- Transportation, discharge points and leak detection facilities would have to be developed.
- Conversation of existing mechanical devices to use hydrogen as an input fuel would require a significant phasing-in period.
