Hydro-Electric and Geothermal

Hydro-Electric and Geothermal energy have been available for centuries and have both disadvantages and advantages, some are as follows:

  • Require certain geographical characteristics such as rapid flow of water over a sharp decline in altitude e.g., mountains area and continuous emission of hot water from subterranean springs.
  • Continuous supply of high volumes of water.
  • Energy generated from flow of water or steam has a direct low cost. Capital Intensive and time consuming in terms of construction.
